L'Imprimerie d'Art
de Montparnasse

A history, a dynamic

A mythic workshop, combining heritage and creation.

Nestled in the Montparnasse district of Paris lies a true gem for art-lovers and historians alike. Beneath an immense glass roof, the lithographic presses of this 140-yr-old workshop have printed masterpieces from some of the 20th century’s greatest artists, including Picasso, Matisse, Giacometti, Chagall and Miró, to name just a few. The workshop is still open for business, producing the work of contemporary international artists eager to experience and be inspired by the unique aura that permeates this space.

L’Imprimerie d’Art de Montparnasse Foundation, driven by an international dynamic, aims to become the main shareholder of the walls that house this legendary workshop in the coming years, and to launch a number of public-interest projects in support of heritage, artists and the transmission of know-how.
